http://www.bookfinder4u.com

http://www.bookfinder4u.com/logo.gif BookFinder4u is a shopping search engine dedicated to one mission; to find you the cheapest book.  Its a good resource for book worms, techies, and students.  They crawl through about 130 book stores and 60,000 book resellers to find the best price for you.  Its a pretty big list so you should get something reasonably priced.  You enter the search criteria and it will return the results matching the book of interest.  You click on the compare prices button and it will generate a results table of the book price, reseller, shipping cost, book condition, and possible coupon for the book.  The lowest price is at the top along with the seller’s rating.

Boddit is an aggregator for bargains, it pulls from multiple bargain sites.  Some of the popular ones that it pulls from are FatWallet, DealNews, DealCatcher, TechBargin, SlickDeals, and many more.  You can view the deals by the most recent, hottest, freebies, one day, or custom the deal you want.  They also have multiple categories so that you can filter by audio, camera, clothing, computers, consumer, home, coupons, and by store.  I’m not quite sure why its named Boddit but it definitely will do it in terms of finding bargains.

Shopping: Buyer Beware – Epinions

The first thing I have to say is thank goodness for this site. This site provides evaluations, opinions and reviews submitted by people on a wide range of products, services, merchants, manufacturers, books, movies, travel, music, cars and it just keeps going on. There’s been times where I wanted to buy a product that was cheaper at another online seller that I knew nothing about until I went to epinions and got the real deal on the seller. This site usually helps save one from the hassle of dealing with bad products or sellers. I may like lemons in my ice tea but I prefer to not get one in the form of a product.

I like their top ten lists for products especially when I don’t have too much time to go through pages of different models for a particular item. They also list their top reviewers in the different categories and I give my accolades to them.

Shopping: Bargain Shopping – Bargainist

Bargainist posts the latest bargain deals from internet promotions to brick and mortar establishments. It also has coupons and freebies that it finds. Its another good site to check for deals from a wide range of shopping needs. It looks like the staff employed by this site, find and post deals as opposed to some other deal sites which is forum based where registered users can post to it.
It has a professional interface which is very easy on the eyes and it is published by the umbrella company called Zombie Corp. Zombie Corp also runs two other sites catered to shopping for men and women. I’ll post more about those two sites separately.

Shopping: Woot

July 28, 2007 on 1:50 am | In Shopping | No Comments

http://www.woot.com

Woot is a unique shopping site that sells a new product each day.  The product postings usually contain their trademark woot humor along with the product information and specifications.  Each day a new product is put up for sale until 11:59 pm, afterwards a new product is posted.  If you missed purchasing the product you will not be able to buy again until woot decides to sell it again.  As stated in their about page, woot offers very limited customer service if any so be aware if you change your mind on your purchase, they will not provide refunds.  Also if you get a defective product, woot usually recommends contacting the manufacturer to get a replacement.  If you really do not want to go to the manufacturer, woot may provide a refund.

Dealsplus is a site that lists deals, coupons, and online promotions to let us keep more greenbacks in our wallets.  The site is not junky looking like the some of the other deal sites that have a forum based style.  It has a clean and simple interface with the pictures of each product and a short description of the deal underneath it.

Shopping: My big fat wallet – Fatwallet

Fatwallet

This site provides online deals, coupons, and it has a cash back rewards program. They offer 24 x 7 customer service support for any questions you have, for gods sake its just a site that gives you deals and coupons.  I haven’t used their customer service yet so I can’t comment on the quality. You can also do some comparison shopping on their site which is through their integration with Pricegrabber. The one drawback about the site is the deals posted on their site do not have corresponding pictures.

Shopping: The thrill of the deal – Dealcatcher

July 23, 2007 on 3:26 am | In Shopping | No Comments

http://www.dealcatcher.com/

Dealcatcher This is one of my favorite sites that I check on a daily basis for tech and electronic deals. The site provides the latest deals from online sellers and the postings are either submitted by the team at Dealcatcher or other registered users of the site. Its updated daily and there are some real finds such as free flash drive after you submit a mail in rebate (yes, I hate those too) or a free notebook case also after a mail-in-rebate.

If you are curious enough to find out whose behind the team at Dealcatcher, you’ll find some entertaining biographies and some interesting facts like:

  • The site has been around since 1999.
  • The site gets 6 million hits per month. *wow*
  • His mom works there and does not get paid.
